Dear Valued Partner:
As you may know, the protection of cardholder data has received a great deal of attention in the national media as of late. Several large breaches at processors and merchants has put our industry on alert to the potential of future breaches and prompted the card associations (Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Discover and JCB) to work together and established the Payment Card Industry - Data Security Standard (PCI-DSS) requirements in order to protect and secure cardholder data.
We have all been called to action to assure that the system access we each individually have is as secure as possible against possible threats. A start to this process is PCI-DSS. For you (as a merchant) that means starting with self-evaluation (SAQ) and then additional action as necessary.
Some merchants are completely unaware of PCI-DSS and need a quick introduction while others simply need to complete the annual Self Assessment Questionnaire (SAQ). To learn more about PCI-DSS please watch the following video - afterwards we believe you will appreciate the importance of your system's security. From there please complete your company's SAQ.
